The Federal Government of Nigeria is receiving credit from the International Development Association (IDA) of the World Bank and Grant from European Union (EU) through the World Bank towards the cost of the State Employment and Expenditure for Results Project (SEEFOR) and Edo State is a beneficiary of the credit and intends to apply part of the proceeds for the engagement of Supervisors for Public Works assignments.

OBJECTIVES OF THE ASSIGNMENT

The objective of the assignment under this sub-component of the SEEFOR project is to support Activity Executing Agencies (AEAs) in the monitoring and supervision of small public works sub-projects in their assigned lots.

The State Project Coordinating Unit now invites eligible persons to indicate their interest in providing the Services. Interested persons should provide information (Profile/Curriculum Vitae) demonstrating that they have the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the Services. The short listing criteria are:

• Interested Persons should have Bachelors (B.Sc.) Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering and Building Technology.
• Persons with Specialization/experience in Labor-intensive Public works is an added advantage.
• Persons that have worked previously as Supervisors in SEEFOR public works project ARE NOT eligible to apply.

The attention of interested persons is drawn to paragraph 1.9 of the World Bank’s Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants [under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits& Grants] by World Bank Borrowers January 2011 Edition (“Consultant Guidelines”), setting forth the World Bank’s policy on conflict of interest.

Applicants will be selected using the Individual Consultant selection method.

Expressions of interest (Profile/Curriculum Vitae) must be signed personally by the applicant and delivered in 3 hardcopies to the address below not later than 2nd February, 2018.
